This blog will mostly be about the ancestors of John and Fronia. Since many of the descendants are still living, I won’t focus much on the present generation or the children of John and Fronia. But I do want to document the obituraries of John and Fronia.
I actually have two obits for John. I don’t know if they were from two different newspapers or if the Banner Press printed two obits. since they are both close to the same information I will only include one.

Scopus area farmer taken by death at 67. A farmer of near Scopus, John Pulliam, 67 years old died at 4:30 PM today in a Cape Girardeau hospital. The body was taken to McCombs Funeral home where services at 2:00 Sunday will be conducted by Rev. H. B. Colter. Internment will be in the Niswonger Cemetery. Mr Pulliam leaves his wife, the former Miss Fronia Looney and four daughters and four sons. They are Mrs Billy Huckstep, Mres Charles Fann, Mres Dewey Cotner, Arnold Pulliam, Virgil Pulliam, and Raymond Pulliam all of Jackson. Another daughter Mrs. Elvie Fann of Naylor and one other son Frank Pulliam of New York. He is also survived by 29 grandchildren and one great grandchild. four brothers, Jess Pulliam of Kennett, Ernest Pulliam, Curb Pulliam, of Jackson and Harley Pulliam of Patton and one sister, Sarah Crites of Scopus.
Mrs Fronia E Pulliam of Jackson died Tuesday night at the Host House in Charleston where she had been a resident for about a year.
Mrs Pulliam, the former Miss Looney, was born October 29, 1885 at Millersville. She was 89 years old. On October 14 1910, she was married to John Pulliam, who died May 28, 1954. Surviving sons are Arnold Pulliam, Jackson, Frank Pulliam, Long Island New York, Virgil Pulliam, Van Buren, Arkansas, and Raymond Pulliam, Cape Girardeau; daughters, Mrs William Huckstep, Mrs Charlie Fann and Mrs Glenda Cotner all of Jackson, and Mrs Elvie Fann, Doniphan; 32 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Services will be conducted Friday afternoon at 2 at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson by Rev. W Harry Hunt, pastor of First Baptist Church here. Burial will be in Niswonger Cemetery nera Millersville. Friends may call at the Funeral Home after 4 Thursday afternoon.
